Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PACKAGES?
The Basic Package includes Powder Coated Joints, Clear and Corner Clamps, Galvanized Steel Wheel Frames for Movable props, and Blueprints with detailed instructions including cutting lengths. The Premier Package includes everything in the Basic Package AND cut-to-size pipe with snap buttons. Basic and Premier Packages DO NOT include wheels. If you’re purchasing a backfield prop, you will need to either add on a wheel package or purchase your wheels locally. Our new galvanized steel wheel frame has predrilled holes that accommodate large plates used with 6-8” wheels as well as holes for smaller 4-6” Wheels. We will supply the screws, washers, and nuts to secure any wheels purchased through Band Today.
HOW CAN I PURCHASE THE PIPE MYSELF?
Our Basic packaged require users to purchase pipe locally to save money. Our props are designed to use 1.315 galvanized top rail pipe available at Lowes, Home Depot, and so on. We provide detailed instructions including number of pieces of pipe needed to purchase and cutting lengths for all of our basic packages
WHAT CAN I DO TO SECURE TO PIPES TOGETHER MORE SECURELY?
NEW!!! Easy Snap Button Pipe
Pipe for basic packages will be cut to single longer pieces. Premier packages consist of smaller sections of pipe that are combined to make large props. During initial construction, joints can be taped together with duct or electrical tape. After initial assembly time should be taken to drill holes and add snap buttons to the pipe
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POPLIN AND VINYL?
Poplin is a fabric enabling colors to “POP” for a much richer presentation. Poplin will not bleed, and is machine washable. If you can afford the extra cost, it’s well worth it. Vinyl is more cost-efficient and is used by bands all over the country.
WHAT IS DYE-SUBLIMATED PRINTING?
Dye-sublimation is a special printing process capable of creating amazingly vivid and sharp full color fabric prints. Specially formulated inks are first printed, in reverse, on to sublimation transfer paper. The paper prints are then pressed together with the target fabric using high heat (around 400°F) and pressure in a specially designed sublimation heat press. During this pressing process, the inks ‘sublimate’ from the paper directly into the fibers of the fabric. As soon as the transfer is complete, the image is completely impregnated into the fabric and can be washed, dried, and ironed without losing quality.
